2. Data we collect

To run Coffee Focus, we may process:

• a username entered to create or join a session;
• session code and session state (timer, breaks, participants);
• technical real-time data (socket connection, server availability).
• email address, session recap, and proof of consent when you voluntarily request a session recap.

3. Purposes

• enable collaborative session creation and participation;
• synchronize the timer in real time across participants;
• ensure service stability, security, and availability.
• send the one-time session recap you explicitly requested.

4. Legal basis

Processing is necessary to provide the service requested by the user (core application functionality). Optional session recap emails rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the link included in the email.

5. Data sharing

Data required to operate Coffee Focus is not sold to third parties. Some technical or advertising providers may process limited data to provide their services, measure performance, or display ads.

6. Advertising, AdSense, and advertising cookies

Coffee Focus may display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies to serve ads, limit repetition, measure performance, and, where applicable, personalize ads based on your browsing activity and preferences.

You can manage or refuse certain advertising uses through your browser settings, Google ad settings, or the consent mechanisms displayed on the site when available. Coffee Focus does not directly sell your personal data.

7. Data retention

Session data is kept for the time required to operate the service and provide technical maintenance, then deleted or anonymized according to operational needs.

Email recap requests are retained to document consent, prevent duplicate sends, manage delivery errors, and honor unsubscribe requests. Requesting a recap does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter or future emails.

8. Security

Network communications use standard security mechanisms (HTTPS/TLS) to protect exchanges between the app and the API.
