Practical guide
Coffee Focus timer: how shared sessions work
Coffee Focus gives separate tasks a common working rhythm without requiring an always-on call.
The short answer
A member with a free account creates a room and shares its code. Guests join without an account; everyone then sees the same focus interval and break.
What is actually synchronized
The room shares its timer phase and host controls in real time. It does not expose a participant’s document or judge their output. Each person can work on a different task while relying on the same boundary.
Set up a useful room
Choose a duration, write one observable outcome per person, and agree on an emergency channel before starting. A first session can be two 30-minute blocks with a five-minute break.
- 1. Create the room with a free account.
- 2. Share the code.
- 3. Close unrelated communication.
- 4. Write the next action before each break.
A concrete remote-work example
One participant drafts a proposal while another reconciles invoices. At the break, each states only what changed and what comes next. The shared timer creates a meeting point without making their work identical.
Free access
Coffee Focus is free. Creating a room requires a free account; joining with a code does not require an account. No application-level participant cap is currently configured.
